I’ll Tell You What’s Bizarre

I just read an article on another Web site about CODEX and feel a need to comment on its scary distorted information. People who don’t read Red Flags and don’t know anything about CODEX might read this and question the use of supplements and herbs for their health.

Codex: “A Disaster Waiting To Happen”

Politics can be pretty boring until you’re threatened personally.

Right now, your freedom to make natural health choices is in real danger. The threat has been quietly building, step by step, for several years. The last act of this drama will take place in Rome from July 4 to 9 at a meeting of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, when new worldwide guidelines for dietary supplements will be formally ratified and finalized. New rules are already voluntarily in place in Australia, Denmark, Norway, and Germany, where supplements are regulated as drugs.

Kraft CEO Says Frankenfoods Will Lead To More Nutritious Foods?

While it is true that genetically modified (GM) foods require less pesticide use to bring to market, this is because they contain more “natural” pesticides than non-GM foods. The proponents of GM foods do not consider “natural” pesticides in their pesticide-lowering claim. Sadly, most health-conscious consumers also do not consider natural pesticides as a significant risk factor. Otherwise, they would be discussing this as reason to avoid GM foods.

Pandemic Of Hunger And Starvation

Half Of The World’s Population Suffers From Some Form Of Malnutrition

Every year, 12 million children in the Third World, under the age of five, die of diseases related to malnutrition. This pandemic of hunger and starvation is unmatched since the Black Death coursed through Europe in the 14th century.

How many of us in the comfortable developed world know this? How many care? How many of us are concerned only with our own existential needs and ignore the hopeless realities of daily death and life in distant countries?

Oh Canada!

Exposing The National Shame And Its Profound Implications For Health

It is disturbing that 1.5 million Canadian children - 20%, or one in five - live in poverty. Many go to sleep hungry, sit in school without breakfast, and lack the warm clothing required in our winter climate.

The school dropout rate is double that of non-poor children. There is a look of sadness and resignation on their faces as they sleepwalk through another depressing day.

Terrorism, Poverty, Malnutrition And Ill-Health

THOUGHTS ON THE CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER’S CONTROVERSIAL REMARKS ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11

In a CBC TV interview this month, Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretian stated unequivocally that poverty, health problems and the widening gap between the rich and poor are among the key motivating elements of the September 11 terrorist attacks. He stirred considerable controversy. Consider the following remarks:

An End Run By Big Pharma

American media have raised little alarm about the U.N.’s Codex Alimentarius (Food Law). This surprises me. The Codex threatens to limit access to vitamins and health supplements. Yet these substances are seen as vital to health, even life-saving, by many Americans -- especially the elderly.
