Because Big Pharma Is Trying So Hard To Eliminate It

Nutritional and Natural Medicine (NNM) is under steady, complex and increasingly dangerous attack domestically and internationally. Since it provides the single most effective — and economically competitive — alternative to pharmaceutical medicine, eliminating NNM as a competitor is clearly a high priority for Big Pharma and its allies. These entities, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Pharma-friendly legislators, the CODEX ALIMENTARIUS Commission (CAC), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and developing trade agreements, such as the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), each has its own attack style. But the common picture is clear: NNM is the enemy and must be destroyed.

The Alliance of Natural Health Suppliers (ANHS) has expressed its optimism over a hearing, last week, concerning the controversial Bill C420. Commenting on the hearing, Peter Helgason, Vice-President, Regulatory, ANHS., stated that, “ the testimony was very strong. If the committee votes for Bill C420 to go for a third reading and passes, it will be significant. It will re-classify dietary supplements as foods,” he added.

Right now, your freedom to make natural health choices is in real danger. The threat has been quietly building, step by step, for several years. The last act of this drama will take place in Rome from July 4 to 9 at a meeting of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, when new worldwide guidelines for dietary supplements will be formally ratified and finalized. New rules are already voluntarily in place in Australia, Denmark, Norway, and Germany, where supplements are regulated as drugs.
