Vaccines

WELCOME FROM VACCINATIONNEWS.COM AND REDFLAGSDAILY.COM

A major goal in presenting this online conference on VACCINES is to stimulate broad discussion of issues that are vital to public health.

Vaccines are one of the most controversial topics in modern medicine and will continue to attract more attention in the years ahead. Vaccine medicine is becoming synonymous with mainstream medical therapy and disease prevention.

But many widely used vaccines have been developed without sufficient safety checks — even according to the U.S. National Institute of Medicine — particularly the manner in which vaccines can alter immune system and central nervous system processes.

A powerful, profit-driven, vaccine-development and treatment infrastructure of corporate, government, military and scientific authorities has emerged over the past several decades. Appearances of conflict of interest abound, both in the research arena and on government and medical committees that decide which vaccines should be approved, recommended and mandated. To balance this extraordinary influence, adults need the tools and legal protection to make well-informed risk-benefit decisions about vaccines for children and for themselves.

And at a time when large media organizations control much of the flow of daily health and scientific news, it is becoming more important to find new avenues of information distribution that are free of corporate influence and control.

In medicine and science, there are numerous barriers to free expression – turf protection, strong economic and political interests and rivalries that result in the suppression of new ideas.

This online conference, sponsored by VACCINATIONNEWS.COM AND REDFLAGSDAILY.COM on VACCINES will therefore aim to open up discussion and debate.

All ONLINE CONFERENCES AT Red Flags ARE SCHEDULED FOR AT LEAST TWO MONTHS

EACH CONFERENCE BEGINS WITH A LEAD ARTICLE AND THEN GRADUALLY BUILDS AS MORE ARTICLES ARE POSTED.

RISKS OF FluMist VACCINE
Hundreds of TV and print ads have been designed to persuade everyone into taking FluMist. The campaign will cost an estimated $25 million over the next couple of months. And a three-year, $100 million campaign will be launched to encourage use of the nasal flu vaccine among physicians. But there are many reasons for caution.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS?
No one would really argue that vaccination is a gamble. You either risk potential vaccination effects if you choose vaccination or potential disease effects if you do not. All smart gamblers ought to know the odds, especially when the lives of children are at stake.

THE SAGA OF PEDIATRIC HEPATITIS B VACCINATION
When it comes to the Sad Saga of the mandated Pediatric Hepatitis B Vaccination Program, there are still, twelve years later, more questions than answers. Probably the most baffling question is: why was a new vaccine recommended for a vulnerable infant without risk/benefit analysis and in order to prevent a disease that was not an immediate threat and that had a decreasing incidence?
